Fundamental is a sound synthesis software combining the different roots of electronic music history. Its wave engine is a faithful sonic recreation of a vintage Rohde&Schwartz vacuum tube oscillator ( having been widely used at WDR by Stockhausen ) Thanks to sonicLAB audio engine design, Fundamental leaves behind the limitations of the original device by proposing complex modulation possibilities, stochastic distributions addressing the sonic parameters like frequency , gain, stereo panning etc. in continuum, which has not been applicable until now. The Fundamental software presents you 8 instances of this vintage sine wave generator with all the artifacts and richness of a vintage equipment. Fundamental2 brings following new features to the Fundamental1, basically now you can create organic, endless moving textures. (for iOS standalone and AUv3 )

- Ring Modulator, 7 individual modulator oscillators and one carrier oscillator.

- A morphing engine which lets you gradually morph between four instances of Fundamental scenes. Also a stochastic manipulation on the 2D morphing panel is possible.

- True real time gradual transition between tuning scales.

- Rotary Encoder midi controller mapping for high resolution oscillator frequency and gain control with midi hardware.

- One can send midi note-on messages to each Fundamental oscillator on discrete midi channels.

- A morse code simulator is available on each GEN (sonicLAB LFO design ) which can create custom morse signals to modulate the relevant GEN outputs.

- new envelope type "Ernd".

- unique polymorphing wavetable synthesis without any compromise in data content and precision.

- 4 dynamic wavetables being rendered for each voice to represent infinitesimal steps of frequency and gain combinations between 1HZ - 3800Hz of the original vacuum tube oscillator.

- 8 simultaneous voices each with custom freq, gain, boost, panning and modulation settings.

- Custom or harmonic frequency distribution of voices with variable spread ratio and tuning table.

- 4 independent stochastic modulations for each voice (32 in total) addressing all parameters with various continuous, discrete distributions and also standard waveforms.

- Full MPE support with various configuration possibilites.

- Independent Attack / Release envelopes for each voice with various modes, AR times can be set to degrees of randomness.

- Vintage oscillator or pure sine wave mode.
Recommended iPAD model : A12 processor or higher. Due to screen size challenges, iPAD Mini models are not recommended.

Version History 15 new tuning scales have been added. In order to make them appear on the list, one needs to delete the app and install this new version. Of course any custom preset banks residing inside the app directory should be backed up first. 1.6 03/11/2023 A pitch glider feature between tune scaled oscillator frequencies has been added. It can be turned on or off and the glide speed can be adjusted. 1.5 09/01/2022 - The Gavinski Ring Mod preset bank is now embedded inside the app.

- fixes a logical issue : Gain Low barrier value will be set to zero when the Playback modes are 3rd or 4th options. Both playback modes require that the oscillator gain level can go back to zero so that the envelopes can send an effective Trig off command when they bring the gain level down to zero. 1.42 07/26/2022 - fixes a preset reload issue within AUM leading to an AU invalidation at the launch phase. 1.41 07/17/2022 - A stylized Ring Modulator, up to 7 individual modulator oscillators and one carrier oscillator addressing the available sonic quality of Fundamental and preserving full modulation possibilities + continuous balance control between non-ring modulated / full ring modulated signal output.
- a new preset bank dedicated to Ring Modulation.
- Waveform display. 1.4 07/04/2022 This update incorporates the use of Rotary Encoder midi hardware controllers in a way reaching up to 1Hz resolution when modulating the oscillator frequency and likewise its gain level. With one hardware rotary knob, one can pass the entire frequency range and adjust its value within 1Hz precision. A 4 pages of detailed overview on this subject is included on the manual. 1.3 03/24/2022 introducing a new envelope type "ERnd" ( randomly alternating exponential fast / slow attack envelopes for each oscillator). Also the ERnd envelope curvature is changing randomly at each envelope start.
